Riverside Generators

Riverside Generators is a licensed electrical contractor working out of a yard on Kansas Avenue in Riverside. We install whole house and commercial standby generators, build industrial standby systems, repair and maintain every major brand, and rent portable and towable units across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. We have been doing it here since 2009.

How Long We Have Been Doing This

We started in 2009 with one truck and a residential install list, in the years when a home standby generator in the Inland Empire was still an unusual purchase. What began as a handful of houses is now generator installation, repair and rental across Riverside and most of the valley beyond it. Two things changed that. Fire-season public safety shutoffs turned multi-day outages into a normal part of autumn in the canyon and foothill neighbourhoods, and the warehouse economy filled the valley with buildings that lose serious money the moment the power stops. Today the work splits roughly evenly between homes, commercial buildings and the rental fleet, and the thing that has not changed is that most of the job is done before anybody picks up a tool.

The Story Behind The Company

The company exists because of a house in the Corona canyons with a generator that had been sized off the square footage. It ran beautifully for two years of weekly exercise cycles and then failed to hold the house the first time both air conditioners tried to start during a real outage. The homeowner had done nothing wrong; they had bought from a company that quoted quickly. We built this business around doing the calculation properly, pulling the permit and coming back every year, because that is the part that decides whether a generator works on the day you need it.

The Crew

Our technicians are employees rather than subcontractors, they are licensed and factory trained on the brands we install, and most of them have been here for years. Between them they have worked on residential standby units, hospital and county standby plants, cold storage sets in Fontana and diesel equipment old enough to have outlived two owners. Everybody who answers the phone has been on a truck, which is why you get a straight answer about whether your gas meter will feed a 24kW unit rather than a promise that it will.

The Brands We Work With

We install Generac, Kohler, Cummins and Champion, and we service those plus Caterpillar, Briggs and Stratton, Onan, Detroit and MTU. Being multi-brand matters because it lets the recommendation follow the job: Generac for parts availability and range on whole house generators, Kohler where noise is the deciding factor, Cummins on commercial and larger industrial installations, Champion where a defined backup power budget is the constraint. Our rental fleet runs the same philosophy: whatever the job actually needs.

Why We Like The Work

It is one of the few trades where the entire value of the job shows up on a single bad day, often years later. Nobody thanks you for a generator that worked, because from inside the house nothing happened at all, and that is exactly the point. There is also genuine variety in it: a load calculation in an Eastvale side yard on Monday, a cold storage load bank test in Fontana on Tuesday, a towable set delivered to a wedding in Norco on Friday. That is a better week than most.
